At North Primary School, we believe music is a vital part of every child’s education and personal development. Our Music Development Plan reflects our deep commitment to providing high-quality musical experiences that enrich learning, nurture creativity, and promote wellbeing. Through a carefully designed curriculum, co-curricular opportunities, and inspiring partnerships, we aim to ensure that every pupil discovers the joy and power of music.

Research shows that musical engagement enhances cognitive skills, supports emotional health, and fosters a sense of belonging. That’s why we invest in specialist teaching, a dedicated music room, and a wide range of instruments, from recorders and glockenspiels to keyboards and drums. Our pupils also benefit from exciting workshops with world-class ensembles, including The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the Mozartists, as well as opportunities to perform and shine in assemblies and school events.

By valuing music as a cornerstone of holistic education, we empower our children to express themselves, collaborate, and achieve their full potential.
